The Puppeteer gives recognizable form to the forces of nature. This individual resembles us in many ways, yet is in no sense human. Hands take the place of feet and the Eye in Hand is the Puppeteer's "head". Here is an imaginary character equipped to play cards, juggle, and make music as no mortal ever could, fine attributes for a court jester or cosmic player.

Imagine this one-eyed Joker keeping the world in order, such as it is, by playing the right card at the right time, or juggling the planets to keep them in their proper orbits.        Back to Codex
